Important Notice - Sunnybank Planning Applications

Ripple Parish Council (RPC) continue to consult with the Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) and our local MHDC District Councillor Jeremy Owenson, for a resolution to 4 outstanding planning applications for this site.


  • Application is to remove an Outline Planning condition for a full pedestrian footpath along the site frontage.  This could incorporate a safe bus stop and shelter.
  • 22nd July MHDC Planning Committee considered amended plans for a shortened area of path and a bus stop at the northern end of the site, near to A4104 junction and on slight bend in Ryall Road.
  • MHDC Councillors decided to defer a decision pending Taylor Wimpey coming back with proposals for a safer southern bus stop and pedestrian access.
  • Amended plans with a southern bus stop have been submitted. Public consultation is open until 1st September.
  • 19th August MHDC Planning Committee, Councillors asked to consider the revised plans and an Officer recommendation that decisions on the granting of permissions should be delegated to The Head of Housing and Planning, subject to him taking ongoing representations into account. RPC take the view that these important decisions should be taken by elected Councillors, and only after the closure date of the consultation process. Further deferral of application agreed at the meeting to allow for this.

 Application 14/01633/REM

  • Application deals with the full details of all aspects of the design of the houses and site features, but cannot be considered until the above application is resolved.
  • RPC have concerns about the ability of the attenuation ponds to retain surface water within the site, and due to their limited fencing they will pose a safety hazard to young children. 
  • Amended Plans now submitted to incorporate a Ryall Road pedestrian access to a bus stop at the south of the site.  Public consultation is open until 1st September.
  • RPC argued against footpath access to Hillview Gardens and this proposal has been dropped.

Application 15/00684/FUL

  • Application is for an additional Phase 2, 33 property development, but will rely on the approval of the above applications. RPC have expressed concerns about traffic volumes, and the safety and suitability of surface water attenuation ponds.
  • The application has not yet been listed for Committee hearing.

Application 15/01069/ADV

  • This application is for a temporary sales office, advertising signage and car parking. RPC has yet to consult on this. Consultation is open until 11th September.


MHDC now require your consultation comments on both 15/00453/S73 and 14/01633/REM by 1st September, 15/01069/ADV by 11th September.
